I grew up in a Puerto Rican household where Halloween wasn’t celebrated, and trick-or-treating was completely off-limits. Maybe that distance only made it more fascinating. I was drawn to the costumes, glowing jack-o’-lanterns, haunted stories, and the magical feeling that seemed to surround the season each autumn. It felt darker and more mysterious than the world around me, like a little hidden place I wasn’t supposed to enter. That curiosity never really left. Over the years, it grew into a love of true crime, haunted history, old cemeteries, alternative music, and the kind of unusual beauty that inspires Darkwave.
