Which Darkwave Scent Is Calling to You?

Updated: Sep 22

Choosing a fragrance online can be hard. You can read every scent note and description, but sometimes you just need to smell it for yourself. That was the idea behind our Mini Candle Scent Discovery Set.
I wanted to create a way to experience several Darkwave scents without committing to a full-size candle first. So I chose six fragrances that each represent a different little corner of Darkwave, from warm and familiar to smoky, strange, and quietly haunting.
Each set includes six hand-poured 2 oz candles in mini laser-engraved tins, finished with crackling wood wicks. They may be tiny, but each one burns for approximately 15+ hours, giving you plenty of time to decide which one deserves a permanent place in your home.
The Devil Baked an Apple 🍎
For the person who wants fall to smell a little dangerous. Warm spiced apple gives this one that familiar autumn feeling, but with a Darkwave twist. Sweet, cozy, and just sinister enough.
Choose this one if:
your ideal October involves apple orchards, chilly nights, and probably making a questionable deal with the devil.
Cause of Death 🔪
A little darker. A little moodier. Cause of Death is for anyone who tends to skip straight past the cheerful side of spooky season. It adds something deeper to the collection. And if sweet fragrances aren't usually your thing, this is a great place to start.
Choose this one if:
your version of cozy involves true crime, thunderstorms, and keeping the curtains closed.
Tea with the Dead 🫖
Soft white tea, delicate jasmine, and a trace of lemon make this the quietest ghost in the collection. It's gentle, comforting, and slightly haunting without being heavy.
Choose this one if:
you'd happily spend an evening drinking tea in an old house with a ghost who seems reasonably friendly.
I Love You, Pumpkin 🎃
This is the cozy one. Warm pumpkin gives you that unmistakable fall feeling without needing to turn your entire house into the seasonal aisle of a craft store.
Choose this one if:
you're already mentally in October sometime around July.
Sacred Smoke 🕯️
Palo santo, sandalwood, saffron, citrus, and soft amber come together in a warm, woody fragrance with just a hint of smoke. It's cozy and earthy with a slightly mysterious edge.
Choose this one if:
you like incense, old wood, candlelight, and rooms that smell like something interesting might have happened there.
Cemetery in Autumn 🍂
This one is my personal favorite in the Darkwave lineup. It opens with fresh sage, orange, and grapefruit, then settles into soft lavender, amber, tonka bean, and earthy oakmoss. The result is crisp and warm with a touch of melancholy, evoking a quiet walk through an old cemetery on a cool autumn afternoon.
Choose this one if:
fallen leaves, old headstones, grey skies, and cold autumn air sound more comforting than creepy.
One of my favorite things about fragrance is how quickly it can change the feeling of a space.
That's also what makes the discovery set fun. You don't have to choose just one mood.
Burn Cemetery in Autumn on a rainy afternoon. Light Sacred Smoke at night. Save Tea With the Dead for when you want something soft and peaceful. Pull out The Devil Baked an Apple when you're craving that unmistakable fall feeling.
Or ignore all of that and choose whichever little tin is calling to you.
